FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PatternCrafts? +

PatternCrafts turns any photo into a print-ready craft pattern PDF. Upload an image, choose a craft type, and get a full chart with instructions, color tables, and paginated grid pages.

Do I need an account? +

Yes. Generating and downloading patterns requires a free member account. Sign-up is instant — no credit card required.

Is PatternCrafts free right now? +

Yes. For members, PatternCrafts is currently free to use within daily limits. There is no subscription and no purchase required to download PDFs.

How do daily credits work? +

Every member receives 300 credits each day. Credits reset daily and do not roll over. Each new PDF download costs 100 credits, so you can download up to 3 new PDFs per day.

How many patterns can I generate per day? +

Members can generate up to 20 patterns per day. After that, generation unlocks again the next day.

Can guests generate or download? +

No. Only signed-in members can generate patterns and download PDFs.

Can I re-download a pattern I already saved? +

Yes. Patterns you have already downloaded appear in your dashboard. Re-downloading from history does not use extra daily credits.

What craft types are supported? +

Six crafts: Latch Hook Rug, Cross Stitch, C2C Crochet, Tapestry Crochet, C2C Graphghan, and Intarsia Knitting. Each PDF uses craft-specific instructions and charts.

What does the PDF include? +

A full-pattern overview, paginated symbol charts with coordinates, a color legend, finished-size estimates, material estimates, and step-by-step instructions for that craft.

Does Cross Stitch include DMC colors? +

Yes. Cross Stitch colors are mapped to the nearest DMC floss. The legend lists DMC codes with stitch counts and estimated skeins. Floss amounts are estimates and can vary with tension and technique.

How is C2C size calculated? +

C2C patterns are square grids. Total blocks equal width × height. Diagonal rows equal width + height − 1 (increase, then decrease). Finished size uses your tile gauge in the PDF.

What image formats are supported? +

JPG, PNG, and WEBP. Clear, high-contrast photos with a distinct subject usually convert best.

What is the maximum grid size? +

300×300 cells for all crafts. C2C Crochet and C2C Graphghan stay square: height follows width.

Is my data secure? +

We use HTTPS and hashed passwords. Uploaded images are processed to build your pattern and are not kept as a public gallery. If paid checkout is used later, card details are handled by the payment provider — we never store them.

What is your refund policy? +

While the service is free, there is nothing to refund for daily-credit downloads. If a paid purchase is made later and a PDF is not delivered or is corrupted, see our Refund Policy.
